Red does spell war!

In response to Mr Michael Rudder’s letter in which he raised the matter of colour in the Alexandra School issue, the writer should be aware that colour was significant in as much as the particular colour red was worn repeatedly by Ms Mary Redman during the strike.
Only when the strike was over did she switch to another colour. This action seems to suggest that for her colour was paramount.
The ability of humans to see colour is not an accident of Creation. Colour helps to regulate even the nervous system – some colours calm the system, while others excite, stimulate or aggravate.
It is no error of Creation that the earth is carpeted in many shades of green.
What a restful colour!
What is it about the colour red? While red is associated with love, red is more the colour associated with battle, with war, with bloodshed. It is the colour of Mars – the God of War. Its preference by Ms Redman was overt to say the least!
There was no mistaking that she saw this issue as one of war.
