Same-sex couples shouldn’t be allowed to marry

I think it was on Tuesday, March 26, that I was watching a station named SPAN and the Supreme Court in California was hearing oral arguments on Proposition 8, which states: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid in California”.

The court is considering the constitutionality of California’s same-sex marriage ban.

A fool like me had thought and believed all the time that the Almighty had made that ban very clear when he put Adam in the Garden of Eden, saw that he was lonely and made Eve for him.

How can same-sex couples procreate? They are here because of the said very procreation and its seems as though they want to destroy that gift from God.

Yes, gay people have a right to things like housing, work, cars, and so on, but marriage? Not a chance.

How can they rear children? What will the socialization of these children be like? Seems as though there is a plan to destroy the human race by non-procreation before the Almighty sends His Son back.

I agree that there is no big sin or little sin – and to each his own – but there must be guidelines and laws in place for our safety. We in Barbados seem to like importing other cultures and other things.

I only hope that there is no need here in Bim to discuss or consider same-sex marriages.

Part 2
some one once said that government and institutions are made up of people. When people's hearts are changed by Christ, godly governments and institutions will follow. If the hearts of the people are corrupt, getting them together in groups only multiplies this corruption. WHAT WE NEED IS NOT BETTER GOVERNMENT, BUT BETTER MEN AND WOMEN IN GOVERNMENT.
you said the Christians are silent ( some Christian take Jesus' words. "My kingdom is not of this world (john 18:36) as their motto refusing to get involved.

So you want to keep gay marriage illegal as they can't procreate. Then when will you call for the banning of the over 50's marrying getting married or infertile couples getting married or those who choose not to have children. Whilst you're at it will you ban adoption to people who don't want children.

There are recent calls for a discussion on this issue. When the discussion starts with "No". Where can this go to improve the civil & human rights of all citizens in Barbados & the wider world?

Reading recent comments from Barbados has confirmed that I made the right decision to leave and live in a society that respects the rights of all, no matter their race, gender or sexual orientation. It is unfortunate that myself and others like me could not enjoy the freedom and happiness in the country in which we are born.

I am fed up of people who continue to use the bible to justify racism, sexism, homophobia or any other form of prejudice. Why are they silent about the bible's approval of slavery and the stoning of girls. Isn't working on Sunday a sin, isn't touching the skin of a dead pig a sin and what about the wearing of garments made of different material, isn't that also a sin as well.

We pick and choose the bible passages to support our prejudices while ignoring other passages that are clearly irrelevant in today's society. The same arguments you put forward against same sex unions are the same arguments that were use to prevent marriage between the races.

We can delay the inevitable but we cannot stop change. Society will not go up in flames as a result of same sex marriage and our children will grow up without the prejudices that we adults cling to so dearly in the name of God.

Part 1 Gay marriage is counterfeits
Because counterfeits DEGRADE the value of all real dollars. Enshrining a false definition of marriage in our laws will inevitably harm all marriages and society, same-sex marriage does not expand the meaning of marriage, but replace its historical with a COUNTERFEIT.

Part 2. we need to determine the common core of marriage amidst all the cultural variety, in an important article in the Harvard Journal of Law and policy, Sherif Girgis, Robert George, and Ryan Anderson boiled down the basic ingredients of conjugal marriage; Marriage involves first a comprehensive union of spouses (husbands /Wives second, a special link to children; and third, norms of permanence, monogamy, and exclusivity, Notice the word "norm" ideal. The norm is the same even if some marriages fail to fully achieve it. A proper end of the marital act is children, even if a child doesn't result from every conjugal act, just as a proper end of playing football - to take a trivial example-is to score touchdowns, even if in some football games, nobody scores a touchdown.

Stupes...heterosexuals can't even get marriage correct, but want to stop gays from getting married? Be serious!
And if you want to bring the bible into it, focus on Deuteronomy 22:13-21. In short, let us stone all the women who go into marriage not a virgin...
Smh...self righteous christians....

Pity you live in an ecclesiastical state.
