Soca in Philadelphia

I recently ran into DJ Lloyd Cumming of Jamaica in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, United States, and he informed me he was now with the radio station WURD 900 AM and on the Internet at www.900amwurd.com from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, continuing the tradition of providing good reggae and soca music to the West Indian community in Philadelphia.
I first met Lloyd several years ago when he was spinning the records at WRTI, Temple University’s radio station, and I solicited his support in promoting the Philadelphia tours of Mac Fingall, Red Plastic Bag and John King.
He was extremely helpful. Lloyd continues to be a friend of Barbados.
