What’s with ‘just buzz’?

I have been hearing anti-drink-driving ads on local radio that are very un-Barbadian in script and presentation. I wonder why?
Why is it that a local ad could not have been produced?
I know we have the talent right here to do a much better promotion and with a more effective message.
We must reflect ourselves in what we do. These foreign ads will almost certainly be ineffective in reaching their targeted group because the lines of communication are out of sync. Barbadians do not get “just buzz”; they get “lick up”, “mackered”, “scrawl up”, “bend up”, “mash up” and “hurt” – to mention a few.
There are so many local scriptwriters, artists and performers who can do better than these “just buzz” ads.
I will drink to that!
