Wuk-up and productivity

It seems that each parish is now trying to outdo the other in the staging of some form of carnival.
Call it what the organizers wish to, we know when the music starts it will be “jones and wuk-up”.
I imagine that for several days before the event the participants are focusing on the “who, what and wear” of the function.
During the parade it will be all about themselves, beads and bikinis. Days after, it will be a “juck for juck” post-mortem – productivity be hanged
In what was our culture we used to be diligent, respectful of self and others and celebratory of achievement. Now we celebrate a celebration and call it culture.
We need to rethink the mismatch between wuk-up and productivity. Mr Jones (and no wuk-up), the ball is in your court.
