Help for artists

Developmental programmes are being put in place to help artists to hone their skills.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart announced this at the opening of the Writers’ Ink Bim Literary Festival and Book Fair at the Walcott-Warner Theatre, Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination last night.
The event also saw the bestowing of the inaugural Writers’ Ink Lifetime Achievement Award on three outstanding Barbadian educators and authors George Lamming, Austin “Tom” Clarke and Kamau Brathwaite. Lamming and Clarke were on hand to collect their awards, while Brathwaite was represented by his wife Beverley.
