MP: A year’s too long

OPPOSITION MEMBER of Parliament Dwight Sutherland wants Government to come clean about the year-long 50th anniversary celebrations.

During the concert at the end of the Broken Trident Run on Thursday evening, he told the SATURDAY SUN that no one had been given a proper itinerary for the year and he also wanted to see the budget attached to it.

“My problem is that this Government can find money to celebrate for an entire year when you have people who can’t pay their bills, access health care or education and are struggling with income tax and unemployment.

“I think a year-long celebration is too much. It should have been for a month or two instead. (CA)
