PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart last night gave Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler a vote of confidence, saying he shouldn’t be expected to deliver miracles in tough economic times.
And he took Opposition Leader Mia Mottley to task for bringing a motion of no confidence against Sinckler, saying she had been premature in dismissing the Minister of Finance’s 19-month economic recovery programme mere weeks after it had been launched.
Stuart was addressing a meeting of the St Michael North branch of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) in the activity centre of the Soroptimist Senior Citizens’ Village in Eden Lodge.
He told the gathering of about 100 that if he did not have confidence in his Minister of Finance, he would not be holding the post.
