Global warming concern

Date:

Share post:

ON MAY 31, NASA announced that it would be launching a probe to the atmosphere (four million miles from the surface) of the sun in 2018.

During this announcement on CNN, the presenter displayed a graph which showed Planet Earth to be 91 million miles from the sun.

However, Volume 3 of the Reader’s Digest Great Encyclopedic Dictionary (Page 1418), printed in 1965, states that the Earth is 92.868 million) miles from said sun.

Now if both the above distances were or are correct, it would mean that the Earth is now 1.868 million miles closer to the sun than it was in 1965.

Additionally, if my mathematics is correct, it would also mean that is is also getting closer at a rate of 35 923 miles per year (1.868 000 ÷ 2017-1965= 52).

Question: Is this seemingly increasing proximity to our star a contributory factor to global warming? Just asking.
