Students learn of rights of the child

SOME SECONDARY school students are creating media messages about the rights of the child.
They are taking part in a one-week workshop at UN House, Hastings, Christ Church, during which they will be creating public service announcements, short films and other informative pieces on such issues as abuse and violence.
Those elements constitute a violation of the United Nations Convention On The Rights Of The Child.
Education officer and point person for the School’s Positive Behaviour Management Programme, Janice Reid, said the 13- to 18-year-old students were drawn from the student councils at the schools.
