Suspected lightning strike causes blackout

The Barbados Light & Power Co. Ltd is working to restore electricity to homes and businesses across the island.

Communications coordinator Jennifer Blackman said there was a suspected lightning strike at the Spring Garden plant around 3:30 p.m. which caused an islandwide blackout.

Power has already been restored to some communities. (BN)
