THE HALOUTEĀ GIRLS were a force to be reckoned with at the recently concluded third and final leg of the Little League Show Jumping Championship.

Abigail, the younger of the two sisters, dominated the 0.70m-0.80m held at Yorkshire Grove, Yorkshire, Christ Church. She won the first round on the bay mare Stella Blue, and captured second place on the sure-footed and speedy Dakota, leaving Slade Jones to settle for third place aboard Whirl Wind.

In Class 4, Abigail was the only competitor to complete the course, taking an easy win on Dakota with zero penalties, and second on Stella Blue. Abigail took the championship for the year, with equine partner Stella Blue at 36 points, while Zuri Connel holds reserve champion at 22 points.

Older sister Jodi was not to be outdone in the 0.80m-0.90m. She captured Classes 2 and 3 to win both rounds on the champion mare Stella Blue. Jodi, who has been consistent all year, never taking the win but always in the running, saved the best for last, winning both rounds and taking the championship for the .80-.90m. with 34 points.

Dylan Frost, with a change of horse from Haze to the dark gelding Victor, took second place in both classes, while Jara Emtage-Cave, riding Chico, and Drayanne Reagan, with Lucky Luke, placed third in the respective classes three and four. The reserve champion title was captured by Reagan, who amassed 22 points. In the adult section of the league, 0.80-0.90m, Paula Galbraith took the win aboard Maverick with 28 points.

Thirteen-year-old Indy Jones dominated the Little League open 0.90-1m with Sir Glacken. This pair captured the championship with 28 points, while Laura Smith and Little Vegas, who entered only the first leg of the league, are reserve champs with ten points. (RA)
