Undocumented workers will soon have a safeguard from exploitation.

Yesterday, Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer Suckoo revealed that the Government was moving to protect the rights of documented and undocumented CARICOM migrant workers.

She announced that the ministry was putting together a migrant labour policy that gives non-Barbadian workers the same legal protections enjoyed by Barbadian workers.

The minister also spoke about an initiative to assist undocumented workers with recertification of qualifications which could lead to regularising their status. (GC)
