CLICO in Barbados will soon be relegated to history’s pages, but policyholders wanting a financial windfall thereafter will be disappointed.

The Sunday Sun learnt that some policyholders have said that they do not want their policies transferred from cash-strapped CLICO International Life Insurance Limited (CIL) to new entity Resolution Life Assurance Company Ltd (ResLife).

They prefer to “pull out and get their money now”.

However, the Barbados Investors and Policyholders Alliance (BIPA) said this “is not and never was provided for in the reconstruction package provided by the Government of Barbados”. (SC)
