Government Senator Jepter Ince objected to the line of questioning of the first Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting held publicly in the Senate Chamber yesterday morning.
Referring to the sequence of the questioning by PAC Chairman Mia Mottley, Ince questioned whether the PAC was pursuing a commission of inquiry against the National Housing Corporation (NHC).
The meeting arises from concerns expressed in the Auditor General’s report.
Ince emphasized “the need to protect the integrity of individuals and their families”.
He said he was concerned about the presence of the Press at the PAC meeting, and expressed alarm at Mottley’s request for NHC’s board minutes of the last six months.
