A FORMER MURDER accused is suing a doctor for falsely misrepresenting himself as an expert, the Attorney General for falsely imprisoning him and the island’s top prosecutor for not speedily bringing him to trial.
Frank Errol Gibson of Gall Hill, St John, is seeking damages and compensation in the High Court.
Gibson had been at the centre of an 11-year battle in every court up to the Caribbean Court of Justice, after he was originally charged with the 2002 murder of Francine Bolden, formerly of Pot House, St John.
Last November his matter came to an end, after various civil battles, with the Director of Public Prosecutions admitting that he was “compelled” to drop the case.
The island’s top prosecutor cited “serious concerns” about the evidence of the Crown’s lead witness and said his evidence had been contradicted by an expert in a similar field.
And now Gibson, through his team of attorneys of Larry Smith, Ajamu Boardi, Keren Prescott, Roosevelt White and Mawena Brathwaite, have lodged three civil suits arising from that murder charge.
