Firearm, drug accused remanded

The two St James men charged with a number of drug and firearms related offences have been remanded to prison.

Kadeem Chad Remalo Jones, 26, of Endeavour #3 and Juan Juist Geraldo Clement, 32, of Jackman’s Road, Endeavour, appeared in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court today before Magistrate Wanda Blair. 

They were represented by Attorney Arthur Holder and were not required to plead to the indictable charges. 

They will return to court on May 22, 2018.

A search warrant was executed residence of Jones’s residence last Friday and the following contraband was found: one automatic assault rifle, 65 rounds ammunition, two magazines, and 37 grammes of cannabis with a street value of $137.

He was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a controlled drug, trafficking a controlled drug, and intent to supply a controlled drug.

A search warrant was also executed at the residence of Clement last and the following contraband was found at his home: two AK-47 assault rifles, one shotgun, one rifle, six magazines, five rounds of ammunition, 33 cannabis plants and cannabis stalks with a total weight of 462 grammes and street value of $2 310.

Clement was arrested and charged with the following offences: unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a controlled drug cannabis, trafficking a controlled drug, intent to supply a controlled drug, and cultivation of a controlled drug. (PR/NB)
