It was?Carnival time in The City when thousands of youngsters from New Orleans and surrounding areas took to the streets for the annual City Carnival yesterday.
The revellers gathered at the Coastal Zone Unit on Bay Street, St?Michael, and headed towards inner Bridgetown behind a music truck, gyrating to the latest dancehall hits and ending up at the Westbury School pasture.
Organizer Glen Harvey said the event was in its fifth year and had attracted a crowd of “almost 5 000” along the way.
“It was the biggest crowd since the event began,” he said.
The Carnival Committee comprises Harvey, Evanston Lovell, Sharon Powlett and Tony Durant.
