While Hypasounds is waiting for Crop Over 2018  he is continuing to build his brand.

“The music really branch off and has been a feature at all the various carnivals and [the exposure] helps me to be more creative,” Hypasounds [Damien Etienne] told Weekend Buzz recently, as he spoke of his tours since the end of Crop Over; his hits in 2017, Get Up And Move and Dip commanding significant airplay since then.

“This is the first time that one of my tours has gone into a season three, and right now, we are still on the tour.  We are going to take a break probably in July for Crop Over . . . the music being is really well received overseas . . . .

“Dip . . . Dip was a creeper.  It started off really cool and easy but now it is getting all kinds of remixes . . .  [but] that is the thing.  I have a lot of faith in all my [music] that I put out there.  I just put all the promotion behind it and I knew that [it] would be always great,” he said.

Despite the touring, Hypasounds says he is focused on Crop Over 2018 which officially begins on June 25.

“In 2018, it is still Soca For Her . . . it is still soca for the ladies.  You can look out for that track for the ladies.  Right now, I am just finishing up some of the songs and going through the listening stages and then we will decide when the release date is going to be, and how we are going to promote its and go from there,” he revealed.

Having started out as a DJ and then branching over into soca, the 32-year-old has seen his music launch off with major hits like Sunshine Girl, Suga Rush, Dutti and How She Like It.

There had been some talk earlier about a Hypasounds album which he says is still on the cards, however “until I can get some promotion to it and get backing for it so that I can get it on various platforms, I won’t be going forward with it”.  (ROG)
