Wonders of art

One day wonders is the title of an art exhibition by the Newcomers Art Group at the Gallery of Caribbean Art, Northern Business Centre, Speightstown, St Peter.
As their name suggests, Newcomers Art Group is comprised primarily of up-and-coming artists.
The group staged a new concept in art exhibitions earlier this month when they produced half their biennial show paintings on the day of the show and hung them one hour before the doors of the gallery were opened to guests and supporters.
Those who are keen on attending the exhibition will be stunned by the talent and high-quality work as well as the price tag of each painting. You can simply visit, view, enjoy and collect.
Art collectors will also see a reasonably wide range of subjects in art form, from fruit and sea scenes to animals, village life, entertainment and places of interest.
The second half of the exhibition will provide viewers with traditional paintings and art works that group members have produced over the past two years.
Among the artists exhibiting their work are Hazel-Ann Mahy-Batson, Sue Williams, Cathy Atkins, Reginald Gill, Angela Simpson, Kim Smith, Elizabeth Skinner-Clarke, Yasmin Vizcarrondo, Gordon Seale, Nancy Maria Seale, Norma Farmer, Suzanne Durant and Roslyn Worme. (CH)
