One is better than none.
That was the immediate reaction to the news that private sector entities have saved the day, and there will be one “massive” Crop Over Cavalcade on May 30 at Queen’s Park.
A release from festival producer the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) stated that a number of service providers had stepped up to join long-term sponsors LIME and Starcom Network “in support of this treasured activity on the Crop Over calendar”.
Sound, lighting and equipment rental outfits are among the private enterprises which have come on board for the single showing.
“These providers will cover the cost of the sound system, tents, generators, electrical installation and lighting for the event. These are the kinds of partnerships that the NCF continues to seek,” the release stated.
