Now that the keys are in their hands, the 2018 monarchs are truly ready for the road.

At MQI in Wildey, St Michael, on Monday, Party Monarch Mikey, who won with My Kinda Party, and first-time Sweet Soca winner Lil Rick, who served fans Breakfast In Bed, were each presented with a Mazda 3 Hatch Back. Both vehicles are valued at $79 900.

Speaking to the media at the showroom, the monarchs, who won the titles at Soca Royale on July 29, stressed the importance of proper planning.

Mikey recalled that he went to work from as early as Grand Kadooment 2017 for this year.

Lil Rick hinted that he would soon return to the studio in preparation for next year. (TG)
