Once flush with sugar cane and other crops, these large tracts of land now lie covered in bush across Duke’s and Vaucluse plantations in St Thomas.
Areas like these are examples of Barbados being about 30 per cent more forested than it was half a century ago, says agricultural consultant Keith Laurie.
