IT DIDN’T TAKE long for Cavs and Warriors to get payback.

Vengeance proved sweet for Hilton Barbados Warriors and Station Hill Cavaliers on Thursday night, as they upended defending champs Orange 3 Pinelands and Pan American International Insurance Warrens respectively to advance to the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League basketball knockout final.

Playing in a rematch of last season’s league semi-finals at the Wildey Gym, the two overturned the results of those first-round series, with Warriors getting the better of rivals Pinelands 69-59 before Cavs held on for a scrappy 52-45 win over the reigning league kings.

Yet the night was probably that much more satisfying for a Warriors side that not only lost the 2015 league semis to the Pine, but also dropped the previous two knockout title games against the same opponents.
