Following completion of the amalgamation of Sagicor General Insurance Inc (SGI) and Harmony General Insurance Ltd last week, the former Harmony General offices at Harmony Hall, St Michael, opened this morning rebranded to SGI.

Several senior Sagicor executives were on hand to host a welcome reception for customers visiting the newly rebranded location. The first customer of the day, Carlos Vicary, a motor insurance policyholder, admitted to being pleasantly surprised by the greeting. Vicary was the happy recipient of a hurricane supplies gift basket presented by the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Hinkson.

Hinkson noted that the morning’s proceedings had gone smoothly. “Today’s first customer has done business with Harmony General for many years and now has become part of the Sagicor family, so it’s been a great morning, and everyone is excited.” He added that integration has been going well and that last week, the (former) Harmony General employees had also been welcomed into the SGI family.

“The teams have been working cohesively as we try to bring the operations of the two companies together and on Friday we had a mix and mingle and a town hall meeting, where all the staff got to meet each other, talk and relax in a very casual setting.”

SGI announced the rebranding of Harmony General Insurance Ltd on September 14, following regulatory approval of the amalgamation of the two companies by the Financial Services Commission. (PR)
