It was a night of glamour at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre when the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., handed out its media awards.

Local and foreign journalists who keep Barbados in the forefront of the travel world were rewarded for their work and the BTMI’s Aprille Thomas and her team produced such a fabulous event, that she too deserves kudos.

The Lifetime Achievement Award presented for the second time, went to veteran Barbadian photographer Willie Alleyne who has spent decades capturing the scenes and sites, as well as events which have featured in the promotion of Barbados as far back as the days of the Barbados Tourist Board whose current successor is the BTMI.

Livewire BTMI US office director Petra Roach, London office director Cheryl Carter, director of the Canada office Peter Mayers, and Anita Nightingale, director of the European office, were all in town for the event. (GC)
