THE BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY will not be part of today’s 375th anniversary celebrations of Barbados’ Parliament.
Oppositon Leader Mia Mottley said it was a decision taken not to accept any invitation “that would necessitate the government spending $100 000 on what we consider non-essential expenditure while sending home people.”
Speaking at the BLP’s Rubbing Shoulders programme held at the Garden Land and Bank Hall, St Michael, yesterday, Mottley said it was not fair to ask people to bear a sacrifice and at the same time flaunt money in a celebratory fashion.
“It’s not fair, it’s not right,” she said.
