CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Sheraton Centre Branch is the joint winner of the 2018 Joy Callender Branch of the Year award. It shared the top award with the Governor’s Harbour Branch in the Bahamas.
It is the first time the regional financial institution has had a tie for the top spot and managing director, retail and business banking, Mark St. Hill explained that it was “an incredibly difficult task to select a Branch of the Year, considering the significant effort of both our Bahamas and Barbados businesses”.
St. Hill said all the bank’s retail teams worked very hard, a fact which was especially noticeable in the last two weeks of the fiscal year when the retail head office team registered a historical amount of activity.
Describing it as a remarkable performance by all, St. Hill sincerely thanked all the bank’s retail professionals especially the nine champions based at the Governor’s Harbour branch in the Bahamas and the 20 at the Sheraton Centre branch in Barbados.

There was additional good news for the Barbados business unit as its Sunset Crest branch joined the King Street, Jamaica branch in winning the Crystal Car Award for outstanding auto sales.
The units in St Maarten and Barbados received special mention for excelling despite very trying national circumstances.
According to St. Hill, St Maarten, rose from the ashes after the devastation of the hurricanes to record year-on-year growth and despite “well documented fiscal issues facing the country, our Barbados team increased its sales performance”. (PR)
