Plans for an island off Barbados, drawn 12 years ago, are being dusted off with a view to putting them back on the table.

A hint of this has been given by real estate developer Sir Paul Altman, who is excited by the prospects of the idea eventually coming to fruition.

Indicating it would have positive implications for the Bridgetown Port, he told THE NATION: “Once you have that, the harbour expansion, which is absolutely necessary with the increase in cruise travel, will require more space and the outside of that is that the island becomes an extension to the harbour.”

Sir Paul shared his vision of what the planned 150-acre island development could possibly entail. (GC)
