How long have you been singing and how did you get into singing?
I’ve been singing professionally about 15 years now. I started out in the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest.

Are you where you want to be in your music career?
Oh no – when I’ve reached the top of that never-ending ladder, that’s where I want to be.

If you were to open for a big act, who would you like it to be and why?
Celine Dion. I admire this woman from her life struggle to the way she sings. Love her.

We know you are extremely busy; how do you find time for you?
I hardly have any “me time” but the best time is spent with my children.

How do you decide what to wear for a gig?
It all depends on what type of gig it is and the song/songs I render.

What do you listen to while getting ready to perform for a gig?
Nothing. I like to block out everything before I perform – doesn’t always happen, though.

How would you define your personal style?
Classy yet sexy

Where do you shop?
Various places, but I have my favourite boutique here.

What is the weirdest/most outrageous thing you have ever worn on stage?
I can’t recall any, honestly.

How does your day-to-day life (outside of singing) factor into your wardrobe choices?
Being in an office requires professional wear, so it’s easy for me. It all depends on what you do.

Favourite accessories you own?
My sterling silver accessories.

What do you always buy more of?
Earrings and shoes

What one item do you wear often and why?
A silver Fossil watch given by my sister years ago.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Lol – I can’t count them all, my mother would say.

Favourite scent?
Miami Glo by J.Lo.

Do you find that you follow fashion trends or do you play by your own rules?
Might take a hint here and there, but mostly by my own rules.

Has your fashion sense changed over the years or has it remained the same?
Definitely changed. We have to change with the times, especially for stage.

Are there any colours that you tend to shy away from and if so, why?
Pink; I’m just not a lover of pink that much.

As a child. were you always into clothes or did you grow into your own fashion sense?
Can’t remember being too fussy with clothes growing up, so I would say I grew into it.

Are there any designers you like to wear or whose clothing stands out with you?
Lucy Lui Designs – almost everything I perform in is done by her.

Won’t step on a plane without . . .
My iPod.

As a singer, you travel. What is travel attire for you?
Comfortable jeans and a nice top.

Routine for face and hair when performing?
I mostly do my make-up myself, but I trust my hair to Natty Roots Salon.

How do you take care of your skin?
I cleanse my face with astringent for my oily skin, but I love shea butter for my body.

What is your guilty pleasure?
A piece of cherry cheesecake.

What is new and exciting with you?
Crop Over 2K11 and pushing my tune Wuk It in the Celebration Time Tent.

Which of your achievements are you most proud of?
Becoming a parent because it keeps me focused on why I do what I do – I do it for them. So it’s never-ending.

What have you changed in your life recently?
The way I eat. More health-conscious.

What gets you excited about life?
Singing, making people happy with my songs, building a bright future for my children, and making Barbados proud wherever I go.
