The Barbados Surfing Association (BSA) is looking at possibly hiring an international coach as it places more emphasis on getting its surfers ready for overseas competition this year.

President Paul Bourne made the revelation at the association’s annual general meeting held at PEG Farms and Nature Reserve, Easy Hall, St John, last Saturday.

As he fielded questions from members about what would be done to bring more surfers up to international surfing standards, Bourne said “it would make sense to bring somebody here”, adding that the new executive had been discussing the issue.

He further said there was funding available from the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) for such a training opportunity. (HLE)
