Former national youth cricket captain Dave Cumberbatch says that boosting the production of fast bowlers would be essential in reviving the fortunes of the Barbados and West Indies’ teams. He was giving the feature address, titled Barbados Cricket – 1996 To Present, at the Keith Boyce Memorial Lecture at the pavilion in Diamond Corner, St Peter, on Wednesday night.
“This is one of the biggest reasons why West Indies cricket has failed us. One of the biggest lies ever told in West Indies cricket is ‘When West Indies is strong, Barbados is strong’ and that is a half lie half-truth. When Barbados fast bowling is strong, the West Indies are strong,” he stressed.
