Experienced all-rounder Kevin Stoute has been dropped from the Barbados Pride team once again.

He has been omitted from the 13-man squad to play against the Windward Islands Volcanoes in an eighth-round match in the Regional Four-Day Championship at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex in St Vincent, starting on Thursday.

Stoute did not start the tournament but made an immediate impact on his return to the team with a career-best bowling display en route to 11 wickets in three matches. His middle order batting has been disappointing, with just 41 runs from five innings.

Overall, the 33-year-old Stoute has scored 2 707 runs in 71 first-class matches at an average of 27.07 with three hundreds. He has taken 142 wickets at an impressive average of 21.71 with his fast-medium swing bowling.

Seasoned batsman Shamarh Brooks and left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican, who were in the triumphant West Indies squad for the three-Test series against England but did not play, return to the team.

Brooks takes over the captaincy from experienced batsman Jonathan Carter, who led the team to two victories against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, while losing the other against the Volcanoes.

With off-spinning all-rounder Ashley Nurse in the West Indies squad for the first two One-Day Internationals against England on Wednesday and Friday at Kensington Oval, Spartan off-spinner Chaim Holder has been called up.

Chemar Holder has also been replaced by fellow fast bowler Keon Harding, with out-of-favour West Indies pacer Miguel Cummins rejoining the side.

Barbados Pride, with three wins and three losses, are a disappointing fourth in the standings with 73.6 points, while the Volcanoes are third on 75. Four-time defending champions Guyana Jaguars top the table on 112.4 points, followed by Leeward Islands Hurricanes on 83.2.  (EZS)
