Complex blues

The Usain Bolt Sports Complex has been given the thumbs down by chairman of the National Primary Schools Athletics Championships (NAPSAC) Committee, Richmark Cave.

When the dust had settled on Tuesday evening, Cave, speaking frankly to THE NATION, said the Black Rock complex presented logistical and financial challenges.

“The quality of the meet was good. However, we have the challenges here at the Usain Bolt [Sports Complex]. We don’t have the space to hold the people and this has been a big headache for us because we have lots of bills to pay and we are not getting the spectator support as we would have had at the National Stadium.

“Parking is an issue that has concerned us. Tents was another challenge. Apart from the sponsors’ tents, we have to pay for tents which we would not have to do at the National Stadium,” he said. (MK)
