On Saturday April 20, around 5:20 p.m., members of the Anti-gun and Gangs Unit of the Royal Barbados Police Force responded to an incident at Turner’s Hall, St Andrew.

On arrival they intercepted a car with four occupants. A search was conducted of the vehicle and two firearms were recovered.

As a result they arrested and charged 25-year-old Adeem Antone Millington of Ashby Land, Oistins, Christ Church with possession of a firearm without a valid licence, and possession of ten rounds of ammunition without a valid licence.

Police have also arrested and charged 22-year-old Dario David Akeem Cox of Lodge Road, Christ Church with possession of a firearm without a valid licence, possession of six rounds of ammunition without a valid licence, and there counts of assaulting police in the execution of duty.

Both accused appeared at the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court at Rock Hall, St Thomas today, before magistrate Ian Weekes.

They were not required to plead to the firearm or ammunition charges. Cox, however, pleaded not guilty to the three charges of assaulting police in the execution of their duty.

Both men were remanded to HMP Dodds and are scheduled to reappear at the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court on May 23. (PR)
