Workbench Furniture Ltd, which lost everything in a fire last April, will stage a public protest today against an insurance company for voiding its insurance policy.
Barrie Linton, son of James Linton, the managing director of Workbench, told the WEEKEND?NATION yesterday that Beacon Insurance Company had voided their Business Interruption Insurance Policy and returned the premium.
That action had dashed any hopes of Workbench rebuilding after the devastating fire at the BIDC?Complex, Spring Garden Estate.
“Workbench will be having a sale [today], and we will use the opportunity to protest against what Beacon has done,” an upset Linton said, adding that the company’s attorneys were still trying to have the matter resolved.
