THE WEST INDIES cricketers spoiled Antigua’s Carnival celebrations yesterday by suffering a humiliating innings and 92 runs first Test defeat.
The party mood which pervaded the streets of St John’s on Saturday night, was sporadic at the Vivian Richards Stadium, with India romping to their biggest away victory with a day to spare.
Barbadian all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite hit the top score of 51 not out, his third half-century in three Tests, as the Windies, following on with a deficit of 323 runs, capitulated for a modest 231 after making 243 in their first innings.
