“I’m first a mum, then I’m a worker,” says 26-year-old Melissa Callender. The production assistant is a quiet lady with lots of imagination.
“I have always wanted to design my own swimwear line,” she says.
“I have had the dream for a long time but I was unable to do so. Now everyone is telling me I should do it and I think I will. I designed the suit I am wearing” shyly informs Girl Next Door.
The mother of one, Melissa is enrolled in a programme for working mothers initiated by Luna Jewellers, a programme that allows her flexibility and support to care for her child, options that she appreciates.
“A lot of women need the support and understanding when it comes to working and having a child, and I feel lucky to work where I do and to have this programme.”
