THE DISPUTE BETWEEN Williams Industries Inc., headed by businessman Ralph “Bizzy” Williams and Rowe Holdings Inc., owned by supermarket entrepreneur Neville Rowe, took a new twist yesterday.
In a chambers hearing before Justice Maureen Crane-Scott in the Supreme Court, Rowe reportedly signed the last of several outstanding documents which had been stalling the legitimacy of Williams Industries acquiring 75 per cent share of NSR Limited.
It is a subsidiary of Rowe Holdings which owns two supermarket buildings at Bridge Street in The City (previously Julie’N) and Trimart at Haggatt Hall, St Michael.
Rowe declined to comment yesterday about the latest development.
His previous refusal to sign at least six documents relating to the takeover triggered bitterness between the two sides, including strongly worded correspondence.
Reports indicated the final document signed yesterday was a share ceritificate.
Last week, Rowe’s lawyers Hal Gollop and Ernest Jackman gave notice of taking the matter before the Court of Appeal.
On March 23, a High Court had ordered Rowe to sign the documents and gave a March 30 deadline.
The matter was taken back to court yesterday by Williams Industries’ lawyers Alrick Scott and Tricia Watson because of Rowe’s failure to comply.
Williams Industries Inc., had entered into an arrangement with Rowe Holdings shortly after NSR Limited went into receivership in June last year.
