West Indies head coach Phil Simmons is expecting his players to have a never-say-die attitude in the multi-format series against Ireland which begins on Tuesday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the team’s second training session yesterday at the Desmond Haynes Oval, Simmons said he was impressed with the level of cricket the team played in India and was looking forward to them building on it in the upcoming series.

“I am expecting a little more of what I saw in India. The way we played the cricket, the attitude we had on the field and the never-say-die attitude even when India were going well are all things we need to continue doing well.

“I think every series we need to be looking to get that one per cent better in everything we do, so that is what I expect to see from them in this Ireland series,” Simmons told Sunsport.  (NI)
