Traffic in The City came to a standstill as a group of professional dancers put on performances in commemoration of the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, one year ago.Local producer, writer and dancer Trevor Pretty choreographed and directed what he called a spectacle for Barbadians. The dance group, which included members from the United States, Canada, Britain and Barbados, thrilled onlookers as they moved and grooved to a number of Jackson’s popular hits. The dancers are in the island preparing for a musical titled Love, Life And Happy Endings, scheduled to open next month, under Pretty’s leadership.“All of my performers loved Michael Jackson and they were inspired by him in one way or the other. So at dinner last night, we decided to remember the anniversary of his death with something called a spectacle.“A spectacle is where you just show up on a location and just do a choreography,” said Pretty. They have done it in Canada and New York.Fans of Jackson around the world marked the first anniversary of his death with performances and tributes.
