A BRITISH national living in the United States has been fined $700 on drug related charges.
Nicholas Deric, 59, of Ocala, Florida, was arrested at the Grantley Adams International Airport on Friday and charged with possession of cannabis, importation of the drug and attempting to export the drug.
Deric arrived in Barbados on a flight from Grenada to take a connecting flight to Florida.  His luggage was scanned by security officials and the drug was found.  He admitted possession of the drug and was charged.
He appeared before Magistrate Deborah Holder on Saturday and pleaded guilty to the charge. After paying the $700 fine, he was handed over to Immigration authorities.
