Hurricane season begins today

BRIDGETOWN, CMC – The following is the list of 21 names to be adopted for tropical storms and hurricanes for the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season which begins today, issued by the World Meteorological Organisation:
Alberto, Beryl, Chris, Debby, Ernesto, Florence, Gordon, Helene, Issac, Joyce, Kirk, Leslie, Michael, Nadine, Oscar, Patty, Rafael, Sandy, Tony, Valerie and William.
The same list was last used in the 2006 season. Names that do not become attached to cyclones are not retired and are to be used again in the 2018 season.
