AFTER?a two-year break, gospel artistes had something to look forward to when the 2011 Flame Gospel Music Awards came off at the George Street Auditorium last Sunday.
Fifteen first-timers were among 40 nominees up for awards, and heading that list was Toni Norville, former R&B singer, who took away the titles of Record Of The Year with the song Reign and Song Writer Of The Year.
SammiJane was another winner, taking home the Calypsonian of the Year title, while Allison Norville-Forde took away the award of Female Vocalist Of the Year.
Hoszia Hinds, who was nominated in six categories, was voted winner of Best Scripture-Based Song Of Year, Male Vocalist Of The Year and Gospel Artiste Of The Year.
Neil Crichlow and Life took Gospel Group Of The Year.
