INCIDENTS?of fraud in the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) exams are on the increase and the council has taken a zero tolerance approach to the deceit.
That’s according to Susan Giles, senior assistant registrar for examinations administration and security, who stressed that CXC would not be tolerating plagiarism, collusion, the use of cellphones, impersonation or any other fraudulent practices.
Penalties for breaches can include disqualification fromnall exams for which the candidate has been registered, no gradingnor a two-year ban.
Giles said the school-based assessment was an “integral” part of the examining process, and CXC continued to have problems with schools that did not adhere to deadlines.
