Clash could be title decider

THE TOP-OF-THE-TABLE CLASH between Barbados Pride and Guyana Jaguars at Kensington Oval over the next four days could decide the destiny of the inaugural West Indies Professional Cricket League.

Defending champions Pride moved into second position in the standings with consecutive wins over Leeward Hurricanes and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in the last two rounds but still find themselves 15 points behind the Jaguars who have similarly reeled off consecutive victories since the competition resumed two weeks ago.

The hosts, who announced an unchanged 13-man squad for the critical encounter, will require nothing less than an outright triumph if they are to narrow the gap and retain a chance of repeating as champions.

Conversely, the Jaguars would want to at least avoid defeat and maintain their healthy position.
