THE BOND OF FRIENDSHIP between five young St Philip women dating back to their early teen years was tragically shattered in a horrific early morning accident yesterday.

Just metres away from Ilaro Court, the official residence of the Prime Minister on Two Mile Hill, St Michael, was the bloody scene of a crash that killed three of them on the spot, while two were rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in a desperate attempt to save them. One died there, while the other continued to cling to life last night.

The Long Bay community was the epicentre of the tragedy as 22-year-old Shakira Shepherd and her 23-year-old cousin Shameka Shepherd, who died on the scene, came from the district.
