..’Til morning come

WATCHING THE SUN RISE to the sounds of sweet soca music over the happy banter from partygoers at the Barbados Investment Development Corporation (BIDC) car park on the Harbour Road in The City, made the Passion Network fĂȘte last Sunday most memorable. It is fast becoming the last stop on the party-hopping scene on Saturday nights during the Crop-Over Festival, and for good reason. At 4:30 a.m. the mini-multitude had the stamina and temperament for more of deejay Pete Rock’s soca selections.  Drinks were flowing and food was still being served and eaten as the sun inched its way overhead and there was the general vibe of abandoned merriment without too much excess. In the space of two hours, soca friendships were formed between perfect strangers who laughed and danced together until 7 a.m. and promised to meet each other the following week at the same soca time in the same soca place.
