The Barbados Labour Party has two new senators.
They are Kerrie Symmonds and Santia Bradshaw.
The announcement was made today by Leader of the Opposition Owen Arthur at a press conference this afternoon at the Opposition office.
Arthur also announced that economist Clyde Mascoll, will be the party’s spokesman on economic matters.
In an interview on Sunday with the Nation’s Mike King, Arthur had said that the two senators would be chosen “commensurate with the economic challenge on hand”.
He said it was important that the composition of both the Lower and Upper Houses of Parliament reflected personnel equipped to deal with the economic crisis.
The new senators have replaced Elizabeth Thompson and Arthur Holder who recently tendered their resignations. (CM)
