“I felt like I failed him.”

This was the tearful admission of camp leader Paul Persaud as he recalled how a then 11-year-old boy told him of being fondled by accused Rico Renaldo Edwards while at camp in 2015.

Persaud, who now lives in Queen’s, New York, was testifying, via Zoom, in the indecent assault case against Edwards in the No. 5 Supreme Court yesterday.

He explained he and another camp leader had completed a course and, to be certified, they had to plan and organise a camp on their own. His camp was May 15 to 17 and the accused was the assistant first responder. (HLE)
